Adult AI Workshop - Register & Secure Your Spot

Understanding AI Without Hype

AI is showing up everywhere—at work, in schools, in our homes, and in the news. With new tools launching constantly and headlines ranging from “AI will change everything” to “AI is taking jobs,” it can be difficult to know what’s real, what’s exaggerated, and what actually matters in daily life.

This Adult AI Workshop is a 90-minute, hands-on, discussion-based session designed to help cut through the noise. The focus is on understanding how today’s AI tools work, where they’re being used, and how to approach them thoughtfully, responsibly, and with confidence.

No technical background is required.

Who This Workshop Is For

This workshop is designed for:

  • Adults curious about AI but unsure where to start

  • Parents navigating AI in a world with students and families

  • Professionals encountering AI tools at work

  • Community members who want clear, practical understanding without hype or fear-based messaging

You do not need to be “tech-savvy” to participate.

What We Will Cover

This workshop brings together several core AI topics into one approachable session:

  • Prompting 101: How to Talk to AI Effectively
Why the way you ask matters, how AI interprets input, and how to get more useful, accurate responses.

  • Is AI Making Us (and Our Kids) Less Smart?
How AI impacts thinking, learning, and creativity—and where human skills still matter most.

  • Privacy, PII, and Security: What You Should Know
What data AI tools may collect, what not to share, and how to use AI more responsibly.

  • Is AI Taking Our Jobs—or Changing Them?
A grounded look at how AI is affecting work, where real shifts are happening, and where fear is often overstated.

This session is designed as an introductory overview. Each topic can also be explored more deeply in future, focused workshops.
